I, BLADES & STORAGE

Quattro have always been leading specialists in the iSeries platform under its many guises (AS400, Advanced System, iSeries, system i, i5/OS and now Power systems running i operating system).  We are uniquely placed to compare running the operating system on traditional rack mounted servers with running on power blades and are more than happy to discuss the advantages of the iSeries over blade based servers, which can have hidden complexities / costs that are not ideal for every iSeries users.

2ND USER HARDWARE

Sometimes a quick fix is required to address a performance or capacity problem or to cater for unexpected increase in workload until budget is available for a more permanent solution.  When this occurs, we can supply 2nd user hardware from IBM itself or through our long term partners in used hardware.

For example, a lack of memory quickly becomes a major bottleneck due to the iSeries' unique single level storage concept and a second hand upgrade is a very cost effective option.

RENTAL MACHINES

Through our contacts in the industry we can supply any machine on rental and for any reason or period. Whether it be for Disaster Recovery test, evaluation of new software or version of the operating system, system stress testing and / or short term development project.

Apart from renting complete systems we can provide racks of disks, memory, processor or any other feature on long or short term rental. This provides great assistance by knowing exactly what the benefits are of a given upgrade before committing to the purchase.  One example of this is the evaluation of a newer tape drive to see exactly how much more quickly the nightly backups can be completed.

IBM SOFTWARE

We can supply all IBM software including Web Query - a fully functional Business Intelligence tool for the iSeries platform.

PARANOIA

Data Protection and Encryption is all over the news these days and Quattro have the perfect solution for making sure your backup tapes cannot be read by anybody but you. 

The Paranioa Tape Encryption device is attached between your server and backup device.  Intercepting your data on the way to the tape it rewrites it to MOD levels of encryption.  This means that if the tape is stolen or misplaced it will be unable to be read by somebody else without an identical encryption unit.  Not only that the identical encryption unit would have to have an identical coded chip and an identical password to the one you have chosen.

This ensures that all your customers personal and financial details are completely safe should anything happen to your backup tape.

SYSCHECKER

If you are responsible for the smooth running of your AS/400 then you know that occasionally things go wrong, jobs abend, lines crash, queues stick, programs loop, interfaces fail and messages get missed.  As long as you spot the problem in time things can be done.
