Commonly regarded as the Father of System i, it was a great opportunity for Kurt Johnson and Bill Roberts to catch up with Dr Frank Soltis at the recent NIUSG conference.

Although Dr Soltis retired some time ago from IBM, he is still very active in the System i field and we thoroughly recommend his column; Soltis' by Design on System iNEWS.

Kurt and Bill were only able to spend a relatively short time with Dr Soltis but it was long enough for both of them to leave the conference feeling inspired by his words and enthused by his knowledge and expertise.

With individuals such as Dr Soltis and the commitment of many iSeries businesses, such as Quattro, it is clear that Power Systems has a long and prosperous future.
